La Iguana

Laid out between the shores of the Pacific Ocean and an 1,100-acre tropical rainforest, La Iguana golf course at the Los Suenos resort is a Ted Robinson design that saw its first golfing action at the end of the 1990s.

Hole 6, “El Bruja,” is the first of the five short holes on the card and it’s the only par three where water doesn’t protect the green. The short par fours at 3, 7 and 17 all seem like benign holes - each of them measuring less than 340 yards in length - but they’re all treacherous holes; particularly the 17th, where the green is protected by water to the front left of the putting surface.

The signature hole on La Iguana is “El Tucan,” the 545-yard right doglegged 4th, where water – in the form of a stream that runs down the left before cutting diagonally across the fairway – threatens all the way from tee to green.
