Quite short and quite tight. La Quinta (A & C) - Photo by reviewerThe holes are laid out in a hilly residential area, and somehow the architects managed to shoehorn 27 holes in. Not my cup of tea this type of course, tight courses like this can be great fun and a thorough challenge, but I dont particularly like the chance of plonking the ball into someones front window or worse, compare La Quinta to the neighbour Los Arqueros, as tight and challenging, but without all the houses close to the line of play, however the course is fairly well maintained and there are some quite nice holes so all in all a decent experience. Notable holes 2,7,8,10,11 and 13. I really liked the 10th, looks silly on the card and from tee, short par four at 250 meters, fairway is wide, but, at about 80 meters from the green there is a sharp hollow, so dont hit it too long from tee, approach needs to be precise as the green is guarded by 5 bunkers and if you're short dont be surprised if the ball rolls back in to the hollow.
