Designed by Stirling & Martin Golf Course Architects, the 18-hole par-72 championship course measures between 6,978 yards (6,378 metres) and 5,049 yards (4,616 metres) across three to five tees per hole, with Agrostis fairways, tees and greens and lined with Fescue rough.

Stirling & Martin Golf Course Architects designed LaFinca Golf as a state-of-the-art facility, emphasising environmental sustainability and water resource optimisation. The course opened in June 2024 following extensive development work that included planting over 2,200 trees across 185 acres (75 hectares) of land.
American Blake Stirling brings 35 years' golf course design experience, having previously worked with Pete Dye, Perry Dye and Desmond Muirhead on over 100 courses worldwide. Spaniard Marco Martin, a Senior Member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects, contributed extensive European design expertise. Both architects share backgrounds as former associates of Pete Dye, which has influenced LaFinca Golf's strategic design philosophy.
The course uses Agrostis stolonifera as the primary grass on tees, fairways and greens, with 49 acres (20 hectares) of Festuca arundinacea rough. Environmental features include solar panel electric self-consumption systems, Rain Bird weather-integrated irrigation with humidity sensors, automated fertigation optimising turf nutrition, and hybrid or electric maintenance machinery. The course recycles materials throughout construction and operation.
LaFinca Golf's 18 holes each reference famous lakes worldwide, creating distinctive character through thematic naming and design philosophy. The routing spans 185 acres (75 hectares) with over 2,200 planted trees providing definition.
Front Nine: The par-five 1st hole, Saint Louis, honours a Canadian lake measuring 565 yards (517 metres) with lateral water hazards and Madrid skyline views. The par-three 2nd, El Golfete, references Guatemala at 176 yards (161 metres) with a tiered green featuring optical challenges. The par-four 3rd, Lalla, pays homage to Morocco's Marrakesh region at 327 yards (299 metres) with a narrow, bunker-protected green demanding accuracy.
The par-four 4th, Tanganika, references Central Africa's largest freshwater lake between Tanzania and Democratic Republic of Congo at 386 yards (353 metres), presenting tactical options based on flag placement. The par-five 5th, Superior, climbs 571 yards (522 metres) honouring North America's largest great lake with water hazards testing shot-making. The par-four 6th, Baikal, forms the course centrepiece at 431 yards (394 metres) inspired by Siberia's "Pearl of Asia," featuring irregular bends, undulations, and lateral bunker protection around the largest lake area.
The par-four 7th, Correntoso, references Argentina's shortest lake in Villa La Angostura at 311 yards (284 metres), testing patience on a tricky layout. The par-three 8th, Leman, honours Western Europe's largest freshwater lake with Celtic "big water" origins at 230 yards (210 metres), featuring headwinds and elevated green challenges. The par-four 9th, Hurón, reaches central North America's Lake Huron at 442 yards (404 metres) with a dogleg right providing clubhouse and residential backdrop views.
Back Nine: The par-four 10th, Ness, evokes Scotland's Loch Ness character at 466 yards (426 metres) with gentle upward slopes and wide fairways. The par-four 11th, Titicaca, honours Peru-Bolivia's highest navigable lake at 451 yards (412 metres) with multiple tee options and narrowing fairways creating varied challenges. The par-four 12th, Séneca, references New York State's elongated "finger lake" with north-south orientation at 359 yards (328 metres), narrow green, and three protective bunkers.
The par-five 13th, Todos los Santos, celebrates Chile's spectacular southern lake at 533 yards (487 metres) with water hazards and five bunkers challenging risk-reward decisions. The par-four 14th, Edouard, returns to Central Africa between Congo and Uganda at 360 yards (329 metres) with lateral bunkers marking strategic routes. The par-three 15th, Bled, recreates Slovenia's island-churched lake at 135 yards (123 metres) across water carry.
The par-four 16th, Enol, honours Asturias's Covadonga lakes at 441 yards (403 metres) with surrounding water hazards and strategic tree placement. The par-three 17th, Rosa, references Mexico's Yucatan pink-tinted waters at 228 yards (208 metres) with vegetation and extensive left-side bunkers. The closing par-five 18th, Cráter, celebrates Oregon's volcanic Crater Lake formed by Mount Mazama's collapse at 567 yards (518 metres), providing a technical finish requiring careful shot planning to a well-protected green.
LaFinca Golf features a driving range exceeding 328 yards (300 metres) with three grass tee surfaces and TrackMan technology for practice and instruction. Additional facilities include a gymn, pro shop, and a Social Club designed for comfort and luxury with a panoramic course-view terrace. An academy offers group and children's lessons plus instructor-led rounds.
The course prioritises environmental sustainability through multiple initiatives: state-of-the-art irrigation systems with weather station integration and humidity sensor networks, automated fertigation optimising turf nutrition, hybrid and electric maintenance machinery, solar panel electric generation, electric buggies, and recycled materials throughout construction.
Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport: Approximately 22 miles (36km), 25-30 minutes driving via M-40 and M-502 motorways. Major car rental facilities operate from all terminals.
Ground Transport: The M-40 orbital motorway provides primary access with direct connections to M-502. Pozuelo de Alarcón connects to central Madrid via Metro Ligero (Light Rail) and regular bus services operating every 10 minutes.
City Centre: Located 15 minutes from downtown Madrid, enabling access to Plaza Mayor, Gran Vía, Prado Museum, Royal Palace, and Retiro Park between rounds.
Spring (March-May) & Autumn (September-November): Optimal conditions with temperatures 59-77°F (15-25°C) and minimal rainfall. Madrid's continental climate provides consistent playing conditions during the shoulder seasons.
Summer (June-August): Temperatures frequently exceed 95°F (35°C) with low humidity. Early morning tee times before 09:00 are recommended for comfortable conditions.
Winter (December-February): Year-round play remains viable with average daytime temperatures 46-59°F (8-15°C). Occasional frost delays may occur until midday on winter mornings, though Madrid's climate supports consistent golf opportunities.
