Lake Merced Golf Club

It's one thing to build an excellent golf course on a dramatic piece of land, but it's much more impressive to do so on a more subtle site.

I recently had the pleasure of playing at Lake Merced Golf Club, and it exceeded my expectations.

Now that's a damn good time!

I played Lake Merced before and after the renovation.

Looks like Mackenzie, plays like Hanse.

I didn't think Lake Merced could get much better and I was quite wrong.

The newly renovated Lake Merced is quite frankly a revelation.

Whatever Hanse touches turns to gold and Lake Merced is no exception, expect to see this course rocket up the rankings, I now have it higher than other top 100 courses in California and it will only improve with time.

I had the good fortune to play Merced after the Hanse renovation.

If one does not mind the traffic noise, this is a great place to play.
