Lake Presidential Golf Club
Developed by the Landmark Land Company, who created the golf facilities at South Carolina’s Kiawah Island and California’s PGA West, the course at Lake Presidential Golf Club is a Jeff Potts design that’s set around the sparkling waters of a large lake.
Managed by Troon Golf, this 7,230-yard layout wanders through a heavily wooded landscape with plenty of movement in the rolling fairways that often dogleg right or left to the target. Ponds and wetland areas come into play on several holes but the aquatic challenge is never overbearing.
Highlight holes include the 455-yard 5th (veering left, across broken ground, to the green); the 445-yard 7th (where a creek cuts diagonally across the fairway); the 160-yard 12th (played downhill over a deep gully to a raised green); and the 335-yard short par four 17th, which bends gently right and down to a kidney-shaped green sitting below the level of the fairway.
