On the drive down to Binningup from Perth the brooding sky was ominous, the wind sheer on the road should have given us a clue of what was to come, but the first is well protected and walking away with par you have your head held up high, the second a nice par three also is well protected from the oncoming wind. Then we stood on the 3rd, and this hole is on another planet, the wind took at least 50m off our drives making this hole very long indeed.
Then onto the par four 4th, this hole could grace any links course in the world, the wind making this beyond challenging, driving 45 degrees to the left of the fairway to make it on was almost unbelievable.
Lakewood Shores is the best nine hole course I have ever played, you would walk away from playing two nines feeling you had played 18 different holes. Without over egging it this great little course may be the best nine hole course in Australia and really does deserve a place in the top 100!
Take the drive, take on the challenge and you will not be disappointed though you might be a few (maybe a couple of dozen) balls lighter at the end.
