Lakowe Lakes

Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country Estate is a gated community development situated half an hour’s drive to the east of Lagos, with a modern 18-hole golf course as its sporting centerpiece. Designed by South African architect Robert O’Friel, the course occupies two hundred and twenty-five acres of a large coastal estate which is surrounded by dense woodland.

It’s a resort course, featuring multiple tees on every hole to cater for players of all abilities and the generously wide fairways are designed to keep the ball in play, no matter the skill level of the golfer playing the course. On the other hand, should you find yourself in one of the revetted bunkers, it’ll almost certainly result in a dropped shot.

Salt-tolerant Seashore Paspalum grass has been used extensively throughout to ensure uniformity of playing surfaces, promoting firm and fast conditions as much as possible.

Par is set at 72 for a layout that can be stretched to 6,730 yards, with the course configured as two returning 9-hole loops.
