The traditional golf course at Langley Park, in the SE London suburbs of Beckenham, makes good use of the limited space available to provide a testing challenge over what I would describe as wooded parkland terrain.

There are a number of types of golf course in England - there are the links, often with storied histories; there the heather lined heathland gems, often with expensive green fees, there's the new course - often from the 90s and characterised by an entrance drive to a centrally located clubhouse surrounded by holes with plentiful artificial water.

I was really impressed with the amount of definition the green keepers were able to get into the fairways for the time of year.

Langley Park is my home golf club and I believe it to be a very strong parkland with many good holes.
