This John Hamilton Stutt-designed layout originally opened in 1990 under the auspices of Bodmin Golf & Country Club but three years later it was purchased by the Bond family – who are perhaps better known for their St Mellion Estate – then a 45-bedroom hotel followed in 2006.

The course extends to just over 6,000 yards from the back markers, playing to a par of 70 (36 out then 34 in), with holes set out as two returning nines. Water hazards come into play a few times: ponds front the greens at the short par four 1st and par three 6th and there’s also a small lake to carry off the tee at the short par 9th.
Other highlight holes include the left doglegging 481-yard 4th (the only par five on the front nine); the short par four 8th (which narrows towards the green but is still a great birdie chance); and the last (and longest) of the par threes at the 201-yard 17th, with a ditch in front of the green and a bunker to the left of the putting surface.
