Located a mere 30-minute drive from Jyväskylä city centre, the course at Laukaan Peurunkagolf lies in the scenic Lake Landscape of Laukaa between the Iso Peurunka and Pikku Peurunka lakes. It’s a late 1980s design from American architect Ron Fream which is complemented by a driving range, short game area and a compact, 3-hole par three course.
The course extends to 6,100 metres from the back tees, arranged as two returning nines, each of which starts with an inviting par five. Water comes into play on several occasions on the back nine, most prominently at the very short par three 16th which plays across an inlet on Pikku Peurunka to a small, bunkerless island green.
Other holes of note include left doglegging short par fours at the 4th and 6th, with the waters of Iso Peurunka flanking the left side of the fairway on the second of these holes. On the back nine, the par five 14th is rated the toughest hole on the card, with out of bounds all the way down the left and a pond to the front right of the green.
