Le Maitre de Mont-Tremblant
The spectacular mountain resort of Mount Tremblant in the Laurentian district of Quebec is well known for its fantastic golf facilities, boasting no fewer than seven championship courses within minutes of each other, and Le Maître is one of the best of these.
Opening in 2001, Le Maitre de Mont-Tremblant winds its way in two returning loops of nine over 260 acres of woodland along the shores of the Riviere du Diable (“Devil’s River”), treating golfers to dramatic changes in elevation and wonderful scenic vistas through dense pine forest and alongside glistening waterways.
Masters Champion in 1992, Fred Couples worked with Gene Bates of Couples Bates Golf Design in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Montreal-based Canadian architect Graham Cooke to design the 18-hole layout.
Part of a ClubLink leisure complex that includes tennis and swimming facilities, Le Maître is the first Fred Couples Signature Design course to open in Canada and – rather unique for a mountain course – it traverses three distinct types of topography: open and rolling parkland, dense forest and valley marshland.
