Linköpings Golfklubb was formed in 1945 and two years later members had a 6-hole course in play. The layout was expanded to nine holes by Douglas Braiser in 1949 then Rafael Sundblom doubled the number of holes by 1955.

Linköpings Golfklubb was formed in 1945 and two years later members had a 6-hole course in play. The layout was expanded to nine holes by Douglas Braiser in 1949 then Rafael Sundblom doubled the number of holes by 1955. Pierre Fulke has been advising the club since 2011.
Today, the course extends to 5,834 metres and plays to a par of 71 (35 out then 36 in). Highlight holes include the tough par five 6th (rated stroke index 2); the shortest of the five par threes at the 105-metre 11th; and the severely doglegging par four 17th, where the fairway turns 90 degrees to the left.
The club hosted the 9th edition of the now defunct Scandinavian Enterprise Open on the European Tour in 1981, when Seve Ballesteros won with 4 shots to spare. He returned to Linköping to defend his title the following year, finishing third behind Bob Byman and Sam Torrance.
The European Girls' Team Championship (organised by the European Golf Association) was also held here in 2013, with Sweden retaining the title after defeating the French team on the last day by 4½ to 2½ points.
