Featuring a very fine trio of “Redan,” “Eden” and “Alps” replica holes, the golf course at Longue Vue Club pays more than mere lip service to the origins of the game.

I had the good fortune in returning to Longue Vue when the U.S. Open was being played at nearby Oakmont. Glad to hear the news was able to secure the service of the talented architect Andrew Green and superbly add to the already existing qualities of holes 8-16. The remaining hole (#1-7 and 17-18) will take place after Labor Day and ideally finish before the golf season concludes.
The magic of Longue Vue is the seamless marriage between intoxicating views and compelling holes.
The routing is also a big-time plus - credit architects Robert White and A.W. Tillinghast for that.
Longue Vue is not overly long but it favors placement over sheer brawn. Approach shots must be played with great care and the greens will quickly separate the pretender(s) from contender(s).
The whole vibe at the club makes for a special and enjoyable visit. Those who get an invite to play should not pass it up. I hope to return in '26 and see the complete updating Green brings forward.
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
