It was designed in the hands of Harry Vardon just a couple of years prior to his death in 1937 The course is located at Looe Golf Club sits on the top of Bindown which covers around 85 acres of land as well as heathland, and boasts stunning views of both the surrounding landscape as well as the adjacent Cornish coast.
The course extends to just less than 6,000 yards from the markers at the back, the course is played with a par 70 (34 out and 36) and starts with a par-3 on the hole that opens which will be the first one of three shorter holes that play on the first nine. The 1st hole and the 18th are located in corridors of play which are distinct from the remainder of the course.
Highlights include the long and small five (the sole par 5 on the outside half) as well as the last one of three par 3s, the 14th, 159 yards (with an interesting crescent-shaped bunker just to the left to the left of the hole) and the lengthy par four final hole that begins with downhill tee shots before the fairway turns left before descending to the green at home.
