Despite the challenges of COVID-19 and a stock market collapse, golf course architect Scott Hoffman teamed up with his cousin, Dirk Chatelain, and Bill Kubly, a 40-year veteran of Landscapes Limited, one of the world's largest golf course builders, to create Omaha's next sports landmark.
With capital a challenge to find in those economic times they resorted to a grassroots style drive to find 100 founding members to start and realize this project.
The name and history behind it dates back 100 years to a rail line shortcut between Chalco and Yutan, 12 miles of track built by Burlington Northern Railroad at a significant investment that proved a financial catastrophe. 100 years later it’s finally found its purpose.
