Lyon Salvagny (Les Etangs)

The 18-hole Les Etangs layout at Lyon Salvagny Golf Club debuted in the late 1980s with greens built to USGA specification. According to the club’s website “some par threes are surprising, some par fours are daring, while par fives are spectacular.”

The course measures just over 6,000 metres from the back markers, playing to a par of 72, with holes set out as two returning nines. Water hazards feature at half a dozen holes, most notably at both par threes on the front nine then the opening three holes on the back nine.

Highlight holes include the par three 7th (played across a pond to a peninsula green); the slightly right doglegging par four 4th (rated stroke index 1); and the short par four closing hole which offers a great chance of finishing the round with a birdie on the home green.
