Having read , the previous reviews and ratings and comments I was prepared for a pretty grim round of golf, far from it, starting with pace of play 4 hours for a holiday 4 ball is pretty good, ok its pretty difficult to lose a ball here, condition of the course , this was excellent, not a blemish on the greens and all told as good as anything else on the island , yes there are really only 2 memorable holes 15 and 16 which both have water in play, and even at 6600 yards it feels so much shorter , maybe as its a par 73 but in reality this is a very straightforward course and you should score well.

Let me start by saying all courses in the Canaries are pricey compared to mainland Spain.

We played Maspalomas today without great expectations seeing that the average reviewers’ mark was a paltry 2.

Having played Maspalomas a few weeks ago, I struggle to remember all but a few holes on the back 9.

In Gran Canaria, with a hefty green fee that must take advantage of holiday makers with little understanding of the area, this place is not worth seeing.

Maspalomas celebrated its 50th anniversary last year so, along with the course at Real Las Palmas, it’s one of the more established golfing layouts on Gran Canaria.
