Mauritzberg

Starting and finishing with a par five, the 18-hole layout at Mauritzbergs Slott & Golf plays as long as 6,574 metres from the tips. It’s rather a tough track to tackle with water coming in to play at half the holes on the scorecard.

Construction of the course started in 2006 to a design by Canadian architect Bob Kains but play on the new 18-hole layout didn’t get under way until the summer of 2010, with two returning nines laid out on the southern shores of the Bråviken fjard.

Highlight holes include the first (and shortest) of the par threes at the 151-metre 4th (played to a peninsula green); the right doglegging par four 9th (with a lake protecting the front right of the green); and 500-metre closing hole, where the fairway wraps around a larger lake on its way to the home green.
