Sand Ridge is a strong Fazio course. Some people consider it their favorite course in NE Ohio, but I think Brookside, Country, and Kirtland are better. Sand Ridge is the most difficult course in NE Ohio though, largely due to the high and penalizing rough.
Like many Fazio courses, the course looks more difficult off the tee than it is. Driver is too much club on most of the Par 4s. You only need driver on the Par 5s and two of the Par 4s: #12 and #14.
The course is full of strong holes, but I agree with other reviews that none are very memorable to a golfer that has played a lot of Top 200 courses. The best holes are the #3 Par 5 and #16 Par 4 that wraps around the water. The #18 Par 5 is a good finishing hole.
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
