Meadow Springs

The coastal town of Mandurah is located within an hour’s drive south of Perth and it has grown in recent times from a small holiday community to the second largest urban area in Western Australia, attracting a sizeable number of visitors to its beaches, waterways and golf courses.

One of only a handful of Robert Trent Jones II designs in Australia – the others being the earlier 1980s layouts at Joondalup, National, Cape Shanck and Coolum – the Meadow Springs course is laid out over gently undulating, open bushland with many of the fairways bounded by tall Tuart trees.

The 18 holes opened for play in 1993 and they're routed in a figure of eight around four sparkling lakes in two returning loops of nine, and no two fairways run parallel to each other. The course may be busy, but once the round begins, golfers play in virtual isolation.

The trio of doglegged holes from the 5th to 7th comprises a fine stretch on the front nine but the signature hole on the card is found on the back nine and this hole, the 524-yard, par five, 15th commands impressive views of the property from an elevated tee position.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
