Melia Villaitana (Levante)

One of two 18-hole Nicklaus Design layouts at the Melia Villiatana Golf Club outside Benidorm, the Levante course is both wide and long, with holes routed around three lakes and more than a hundred sand traps in play.

Set near Benidorm, on the north side of the Autopista Ap-7 which runs along the coast from Els Limits to Vera, the Levane course extends to 6,576 metres from the back tees, with par set at 72 and holes arranged as two returning nines.

Highlight holes include the par three 7th and par four 13th (which start from adjacent tee box areas then play round opposite sides of the same lake), along with the par four 10th which presents further aquatic challenge in the shape of another lake positioned front left of the green. 

If the Levante is too busy, or you just fancy a fun round on a less demanding course, then the 3,858-metre (par 62) Poniente fits the bill. Featuring ten par threes and eight par fours (only one of which is longer than 280 metres), this layout is guaranteed to please.
