Mendip Spring (Brinsea)

The 9-hole Lakeside course appeared in 1991, with the championship-standard 18-hole Brinsea layout arriving a year later.
Today, the Brinsea measures 6,412 yards from the back tees, playing to a par of 72, with holes arranged as two returning nines. Water hazards (in the shape of ponds and streams) come into play at more than half the holes on the card.
Highlights include the narrow par five 7th (“Herons Nest”) and long par four 11th (“Kinheil”), with water channels on either side of these holes connected by a ditch across the fairways. The short par three 18th (“Goughs Grin”) is another notable hole, where water to the front and sand to the rear protect par at the home green.
