Mid Kent
Gravesend, England- AddressSinglewell Rd, Gravesend DA11 7RB, UK
Located on a compact, 88-acre site just off the A2 in Gravesend, the course at Mid Kent Golf Club is a Willie Park Jr. layout that dates back to the formation of the club in 1909.
The course underwent a few alterations since then, most notably by Frank Pennink in the early 1970s, but the design intent of the original architect has never been diluted.
Today, the course extends to just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, with par set at 70; 35 out and 35 back. The front nine starts and finishes with a par three, and there are another two short holes to play in between, at the 166-yard 4th and 145-yard 7th.
Feature holes include the short par four 11th in the north west corner of the course, the final par three on the card at the 200-yard 16th, and the lone par five on the inward half at the 17th, with out of bounds running along the right side of a hole that gently bends right to the green.
