Mission Hills Phuket
Golfers searching for an archetypal resort course in Phuket need look no further than the Jack Nicklaus-designed course at Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa. Situated next to a mangrove forest on the northeast coast of the island, the course is only a 15-minute drive from the international airport with incredible ocean views from almost every fairway.
Feature holes on the front nine include the par five 2nd and par four 5th, which share the same island green and the 237-yard 7th, the longest par three on the card, where the green sits behind a large lake.
The par four 12th is ranked the most difficult hole on the card. Measuring a mighty 481 yards from the back markers, it bends slightly to the left from the tee with water and a large waste area threatening shots that stray too far to the right of the fairway.
Visitors should note that the use of a cart and caddy is mandatory at Mission Hills.
