Morgan Creek

Situated an hour’s drive south of downtown Vancouver, just six miles from the border with the United States, Morgan Creek Golf Course is a Tom McBroom-designed public facility that offers golfers a private golf experience for a very reasonable green fee.

The tree-lined fairways of Morgan Creek have been set out on a gently undulating landscape, weaving their way around a number of beautiful ponds and wetland areas in a very appealing manner, with Mount Baker and the Golden Ears Mountain Range forming a majestic backdrop.

You have to hit the ground running here as the 426-yard 1st hole is rated stroke index 1 on the card. It may look rather innocuous from the tee but that’s only because you are unable to see the trouble that lies ahead when the narrow fairway doglegs right to a green that sits behind a small pond.

The 230-yard 8th is another water-protected hole of note on the front nine, its offset green situated on the other side of a lovely wetland area, with one bunker to the right and two to the left of the putting surface.

On the inward half, the 401-yard 15th is a really tough par four. Once the tee shot carries a small pond to a rather tight landing area, the approach shot then has to avoid a wetland area that slashes diagonally across the fairway in front of the green.
