Mount Martha

Situated just off the Mornington Peninsula Freeway, the Mount Martha Public Golf Course is configured as two returning nines, each playing to a par of 35, with only one par five on the front half and one par five on the back half. The overall length of the layout is a modest 5,000 metres.

Occupying a compact, 100-acre property, the original nine holes at Mount Martha were brought into play in 1977, with the second nine arriving the following year. A decade after the 18-hole course became operational, the order of playing the two nines was reversed and this sequence has remained the same ever since then.

Highlight holes include the longest par four on the front nine at the 384-metre 9th (played blind off the tee); the 147-metre 13th (with a deep gully in front of the green); and the par five closing hole which doglegs left and uphill to a 2-tiered home green situated next to the 10th tee, a little way apart from the clubhouse.
