Mudgee

Established in 1906, the course at Mudgee Golf Club occupies an area of just over 100 acres on the outskirts of town, where tree-lined holes are set out on relatively flat terrain, making it an easy walk in the park for golfers.

The club was founded in 1906, presumably with members playing on a 9-hole course, and Arthur East developed this layout in 1955 into the course that now operates in the modern era.

Measuring just over 6,000 metres from the back tees, Mudgee plays to a par of 71 (36 out then 35 in) with holes routed around Redbank Creek as it winds its way through the property.

Holes of note include the tough long par four 6th; the double doglegging par five 8th; the slightly uphill par three 11th; and the left veering par five 13th.

Then there’s the downhill par three signature “Donga” hole which plays downhill over the creek to a green that’s guarded by a large gum tree to the right, with a large mound to the back left.
