As good as it gets - quite simply if you can get on, get on. You can't wish for any better course, anywhere in the world, than NSWGC. The course tests you from the opening shot to the last, with the wind changing the course from day to day. Add the Mackenzie greens, plenty of semi-blind shots and fabulous undulations, this is a test beyond compare.
There are great holes from start to finish. My liking for 'groups' of holes is satisfied several times, probably the pick being 5-7, slightly ahead of 15-17. The 6th gets most attention being right down on the coast and with its upturned saucer green, but my favourite holes are the 5th and 15th, the 5th being downhill over the saddle and the 15th the reverse. Both can be terrifying and usually are, absolutely brilliant use of the topography.
It's impossible to overrate this course. It is golf perfection and until you've experienced it (preferably several times), you can't imagine how good golf can be.

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
