Review for Nicklaus North

Reviewer Score:

Nicklaus North Golf Club was designed by the Golden Bear and opened for play in 1995. It gained worldwide recognition for hosting two Skins Games and the Shell Wonderful World of Golf. It is located at the base of Whistler, a popular year round vacation destination, and along Green Lake. The course features the best variety and most challenging par 3's amongst the big four courses. There are 5 of them with the signature 230yard 17th being the most scenic. It features Green Lake along the left side, a huge bunker framing the entire left side and back and another bunker on the right side. The best shot will come in from right to left and a par is a great score. The other par 3's offer a variety of challenges and distances testing all tee-off shots. The course provides some room off the tee while narrowing and forcing more precision on your approach shots. The view is always fantastic in the area, however it can be a little noisy with the construction of homes on the property. The challenging holes are mostly on the back with three tough par threes and longer par 4's that can bite you awaiting. The 17th and 18th are great finishing holes and will leave you with a good impression of another quality Whistler Golf Course. The greens are the best in the area but some of the fairways were a little soggy. Mike Stefan
