Nizels
Located halfway between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks, just off the A21 main road, Nizels Golf & Country Club is one of more than a dozen country clubs owned and operated by The Club Company, combining a traditional golf offering with health and fitness facilities for all the family.
The course was fashioned back in the heady days of the golf boom in the early 1990s, when quite a few layouts like this sprung up all over the country.
Extending to just over 6,350 yards from the back markers and playing to a par of 72, the course is configured as two returning nines, with five par threes and five par fives on the card.
Highlight holes include the par four 7th and par three 8th (where the two greens sit behind adjacent lakes), the right doglegging par four 13th (which plays to a green on the other side of the water from the 8th), and the last of the par threes at the very tightly tree-lined 16th.
In 2021, Jonathan Gaunt was appointed to work at the club on a drainage and bunker renovation project.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
