North Sound

Golfers have a reasonable selection of courses to play on Grand Cayman as golf becomes an increasingly popular sport with both tourists and locals.

The Brittania Golf Club has a family-orientated course laid out on the breezy North Sound of the island and it’s a Jack Nicklaus-designed 9-hole layout that also includes tees to play it as an 18-hole, par 57, executive course.

Just to the north of here at the Ritz-Carlton, Greg Norman’s challenging Blue Tip 9-hole course is set out over a generous 120-acre site with water coming into play on eight of the holes.

Next door to this property is Grand Cayman’s only 18-hole layout, the North Sound Club, commonly known as the Links at Safehaven. Designed by Englishman Roy Case in 1994, the course was built in the style of a "traditional Scottish links course" (according to ill-informed marketeers) with par set at 71.

With beautifully manicured fairways edged by palm trees and generously proportioned greens protected by white powder sand bunkers, North Sound is an idyllic place to play golf - what you might call a golfing paradise, in fact.
