Beautiful location and layout. The Par 3 by the sea (now the 13th, formerly the 4th before the club reversed the front and back 9) is memorable. The course benefits from above average conditioning. Greens are very fast and firm but true and consistent. You need a delicate putting touch and proper reading. Similarly approach shots need to be just right to hold the green. For the mid-handicapper like me who get much height or spin it was far more successful to land short and roll up onto the green in current hard dry conditions. The green fringes were short and very puttable. It was playing quite linksy in that regard. If you drive the ball 240+ you might be putting driver away on several holes to take a safer but longer line. Makes it interesting.
The three members (all three also volunteers at this member owned club) who I was paired with were very friendly and helpful with aiming points, though in most cases an unguided visitor could do just fine.

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
