Nova Amerika (Woodland & Bohemian Garden)

The Nová Amerika Country Club is recognized as one of the top leisure destinations in the Czech Republic. It’s not just a golf complex though, as it offers a wide variety of sporting pursuits, from archery and volleyball to equestrianism – which is only fitting on an estate where horses have been bred for many years.

Complementing the 27-hole golf course, 18-hole academy course, driving range and practice area, there are three hotel buildings and a restaurant which, along with a riding hall, form a large courtyard containing a massive open air grill.

Designed by Stephan Freidreich and opened in 2002, the three 9-hole courses at Nová Amerika each have their own design influences – “Woodland” is typically European, “Maple Hills” has an American feel to it and “Bohemian Garden” contains Scottish links elements.

The championship 18-hole layout is considered to be the first two of these three courses. “Woodland” is the longest loop and, like “Maple Hills,” it contains a daunting pair of back-to-back par fives towards the end of its 9-hole circuit. Water features at several holes with a stream cutting across holes 1 and 2 and a pond lurking alongside the par three 3rd hole.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
