I had the opportunity to play Oak Hill East last week and it was hands down one of the best courses I've played. The entire experience was amazing - a beautiful clubhouse, friendly staff, great practice facilities - the whole 9 yards. But the golf course is in another world of amazing. The best way I can describe Oak Hill East is that the holes themselves are beautiful. The recent facelift to the course has opened up vistas that leave you in awe from around the property. The bunkers make the green complexes and fairways pop, best described by my host as a "3D feel". The course relies on no ocean views to be great. The holes themselves produce beauty and every single hole is great fun and feels perfectly in place. This course is also a true test of golf. It rewards good shots and punishes bad ones, exactly as it should. This course definitely ranks above many other great NY state courses in my eyes and definitely is my top 15 in the USA.
