Oatlands

Host venue for the 1963 Australian PGA Championship, Oatlands Golf Club was formed in 1931 when Rupert Black (who assisted Alister MacKenzie during his earlier Australian visit, according to the club) laid out the original incarnation of the club’s course.

In the modern era, the course measures just over 5,700 metres from the back markers, playing to a par of 70 (34 out then 36 in) with holes occupying a rather constricted 85-acre property which is bounded by woodland to the east and housing along the remaining parts of the perimeter.

Highlight holes include the long par four 6th (with out of bounds to the left and a lateral water hazard on the opposite side of the fairway) and the tree-lined par four 14th, where the fairways bends slightly right to a sand-protected green that slopes gently left to right.
