Ocean Dunes is a real challenge in top condition, with some excellent holes, superb location (would be hard not to be on King Island ! ) and the friendly helpful team of David and Tara who thankfully advised me to play by buggy; the swooping terrain, strong wind and long transitions would be an extreme walk.
I played in an atypical Easterly, thus many of the holes were different to envisaged by the designers - one of the greens is a fescue Pringle that I was unable to hold with any club including putter. Typically the back nine is harder, but my split was 11/20 points - wind is an ever present here !
Loads of spectacular shots and greens, imaginative holes and a very comfortable 19th hole (excellent sausage rolls and pies !) mean you must play here if you make the pilgrimage to King Island.
