Olympic View

Designed by Bill Robinson and opened for play in 1990, the course at Olympic View Golf Club lies on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, half an hour’s drive from downtown Victoria, where golfers enjoy expansive views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Olympic National Park in Washington, USA.

The course is one of thirteen golf facilities operated by the GolfBC Group in British Columbia and Hawaii and it occupies a beautiful woodland setting, completely undisturbed by real estate, with fairways routed around a dozen lakes and numerous wetland areas. In such a tranquil, secluded environment, golfers often find deer roaming close to the golfing action.

One of the more notable holes at Olympic View is the par four 8th (rated the toughest hole on the front nine) which doglegs slightly left to a sand and water-protected three-tiered green. On the inward half, the par four 17th narrows markedly between an enormous rock formation and a Japanese garden en route to a green that’s backdropped by a rather distinctive 40-foot waterfall.
