Ostsee-Wittenbeck (Eikhof)
The 27-hole golf complex at Ostee Golf Resort Wittenbeck sits close to the Baltic Sea coastline, just a couple of kilometres inland from the small seaside town of Kühlungsborn.
Designed by respected architect Christoph Städler, the 18-hole Eikhof course appeared in 2007, a decade after the 9-hole Höstigen layout first opened for play at the resort.
The course is laid out in a links style, with extensive bunkering and mounding, but half the holes also feature water hazards so there’s a distinct parkland feel to proceedings too.
In fact, there’s an eclectic mixture of design elements at play here, though the sandy soiled fairways play reasonably firm, offering plenty of strategic interest during a round on the Eikhof course.
