Otepää Golf Center
Situated around a three-hour drive from Tallinn, the course at Otepää Golf Center opened for play in 2006, with the holes laid out inside an ancient forest that lies between Lake Saagjärv and Lake Mäha in the Otepää Nature Park.
Occupying a rather hilly landscape, the course measures just over 6,000 metres in total length, with holes laid out as two returning nines. Par is set at 73 (36 out then 37 in) and there’s an unusual hole to start the inward half, a double doglegging par six that extends to a mighty 677 metres from the back tees.
Highlight holes include short par fours at the 3rd and 7th, along with the shortest par three on the card at the 132-metre 4th. On the significantly longer back nine, there are back-to-back par threes in play at the 15th and 16th and these are immediately followed by a tough, right doglegging par five (rated stoke index 1) at the 17th.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
