Palm Garden

Situated in Putrajaya, Malaysia's administrative centre, the popular golf facility at Palm Garden Golf Club is owned and operated by Resort Villa Golf Course Berhad. For golfers in Kuala Lumpur, it takes no more than a convenient 20-minute drive from the city centre to reach it.

The original Rick Robbins-designed golf complex consisted of three 9-hole circuits – Putra, Palm and IOI – but this arrangement was radically modified in 2009 when a new 18-hole layout was fashioned by Ted Parslow and Jason Winter.

Following a complete redesign, Palm Garden now consists of two 9-hole circuits, named Eugenia and Bismarck, where re-shaped, sand-capped Hybrid Zoysia fairways now play to greens that are carpeted with Bermuda Tifdwarf grass.

Many of the rocks and large stones that were dug up during the course renovation have been used to great effect by lining tee boxes and lakes. A number of holes have also had floodlighting installed to allow evening play during the week.

Water only interferes on a couple of holes during the front nine, at the par five 4th and the par three 7th, but an aquatic dimension returns with a vengeance on the back nine at half a dozen of the holes, most prominently at the island green 17th.
