Palmares Golf (Praia & Lagos)

“This is like a slice of Scotland has been dropped on the Algarve coast.

To create some balance after giving Praia 1 star.

First time playing Palmares this year having been golfing in Portugal for nigh on 25 years and I have got to say I walked off slightly disappointed.

There is no doubting this is a really brilliant and tough golf course.

We played the alvor lagos loop (Praia closed) yesterday as part of an algarve golf trip.

3 loops of 9 here Alvor, praia and lagos, all a bit different , lagos more flat and down by the ocean, im not convinced about its ratings , probably the Robert Trent Jones name is keeping this as high as it is, i echo the feelings of other contributors on here, as the condition of the course wasn't great, mainly as they seem hell bent on getting as many round as they can, with only 8 min gapsfor4 balls, the round was so slow, the impression you get also from the staff and club isn't great, feels like a golf factory than a n enjoyable day out.

This is a lovely golf course in a terrible condition.

I’m going to start this off with the course is in terrible condition, the worst I’ve seen on a golf course.

like other reviews, the layout is amazing, but he condition currently is poor.

First impression on arrival is that this resort has serious ambitions to lure golfers away from Vilamoura and has invested significantly to do so.
