An absolute gem of a course. Has replaced Druids Glen as my 2nd favourite Irish course. I also agree with a previous comment that it’s better than The K Club (which is so over-rated and doesn’t even get in my top 10).The driveway up to the clubhouse has to be one of the longest approaches you’ll ever find to the 19th hole. From the moment you begin that drive you just know that a lot of money has been spent on this place. And when you enter the changing rooms it’s like entering the lobby of a 5-star hotel. Sofas and flat screens in the changing rooms! Pure class. The fairways were still undergoing some treatment when we were there but the greens were pure and immaculate. There are so many great holes but two that stick in my mind are the Par 3 3rd and the Par 5 9th. The 3rd is like a little corner of Augusta with water and flower beds around it. Beautiful. The 9th is an amazing hole. As you stand on the tee you see this S-shaped hole weaving it’s way uphill laid out in front of you. For the big-hitters it’s possible to cut across the angles and go for the green in 2 but holding the ball on the green will be a real challenge. Most ordinary mortals will have to follow the curves to get there in regulation.Back at the 19th there is a wonderful decking upstairs where you can sit out watching the golfers come up the 18th.All-in-all an experience not to be missed.
