Panchkula

In the book Golf in India: The Ultimate Golfing Guide, authors Phil Ryan and Paul Reeves describe Panchkula as follows:

“This is a public golf course on the banks of River Ghagar, a beautiful golf site. The foundation stone of this course was laid by Sh Jaswant Singh, Defence Minister, on 14 September 2001.

Challenge and appeal are the forte of this golf course to attract golfers from Chandigarh and Panchkula, the cradle of professional golf for the country.”

Following a course remodel by Golf Design India in 2013/14 the layout now extends beyond 7,100 yards from the back tees, playing to a par of 72. Because there are quite a few lateral water hazards and areas of out of bounds to be encountered, keeping the ball in play can be quite a demanding task on this long and tight track.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
