Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club

The golf course at Paraparauma Beach (PB) has become regarded as a legendary links located in a remote part of the world where a true links golf course is very rare, and as a result it has in my view been placed on a pedestal where it does not belong.

A collection of par 3s to rival any course.

An early start following a night of rain and blustering winds almost resulted in a cancellation.

Lets be honest this is New Zealand's only true links course, and its a cracker, with super fast greens and rustic rough, here is the thing though , coming from the UK we are spoilt and i appreciate that this is a great course, but it would be similar say to something like west lancs or seacroft, which are great tracks but there are better ones , if you moved them to New zealand you would get the same comments as below.

Paraparaumu Beach is the perfect collision of word-class quality and golfing soul.

We were lucky to play on a calm day or this review may have been different!

The recent (February 2023) cyclone forced a fast re-routing of my foray to NZ, usually an annual event, if governments don't get in the way.

This is a great course.

Paraparaumu is a very unique course for NZ, and a true links course.

Excellent Golf Course with 5 very tough par 3’s.
