The recent (February 2023) cyclone forced a fast re-routing of my foray to NZ, usually an annual event, if governments don't get in the way. The change meant three consecutive days on Parapatam, heavenly! There was a hammering wind most of the time and scoring was difficult. It is a classic links course and a lovely reminder of my native Ireland.
The fairways are generous so there were few ball searches despite the wind. The carries are also quite reasonable even into the wind for shorter hitters. The extreme weather earlier in the week meant some puddles, but these were amazingly few. The course stood up excellently.
The staff were friendly and a nice discount was provided for the multiple games. I now have played Paraparam about a dozen times. I always go out of my way to play it.

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
