Peachtree

Legend has it that Bobby Jones got involved at Peachtree after finishing Augusta in part so he could have more creative control and belong to a club that focused more on the fraternity of the members versus having to operate under the National’s autocrat, Cliff Roberts.

Peachtree, in my view, is one of the best courses in the US.

Peachtree is about as perfect as an inland/parkland golf course can be found in the USA.

Peachtree has always been a very private club and even now only has a few hundred members.

I tell people if you can't get on Augusta National (and really who can) Peachtree GC will be as close as you can get.

If you have had the privilege of visiting both Peachtree and Augusta, there is no question you will not only immediately see the similarity between them but very well may mistaken the properties from the first fairway if someone planted you there and you did not know exactly where you were.

One of my favorite courses in the country.

The last course on my trip to the Pinehurst area was to be played on my way back to Atlanta.

Peachtree only has 225 members and on the beautiful Spring day I played it we saw only two other group all day.
