Review:

Played Pearl Valley last week after booking months in advance. After entering the estate the course Marshall’s collect your clubs and dock on your designated buggy. Club house is great and locker room is excellent. Driving range is excellent although did not like the fact workers were repairing the range while players were hitting.

The wind was blowing a three club wind, and was very warm. Course was in good condition and at start of the round the greens were receptive. By the end the greens were dry and running very fast.

There are a lot of bunkers and all strategically placed. Also there is a lot of water but only really in play on a handful of holes. 13th is the signature hole par 3 over water with stunning vista.

Buggy’s are needed as quite a long walk between holes.

I’ve given an eagle rating as the course is good. Not great value for money but overall experience is great and would recommend a visit. It’s not a classic course and is modern in its design. Some players make not like that, but I didn’t mind too much. Like many resort style courses, especially like ones in Portugal and Spain, housing surrounds the course entirely. They haven’t put too close to the course, but certainly are in range for a stray drive.
