Review:

It's taken us several trips to this part of the World to finally get to Peterhead, and wish we had done it earlier.

We were the only visitors on the course when we played at an incredibly good value Winter green fee, with friendly members checking how we were getting on and offering any assistance making it a lovely experience.

A lovely day, and whilst as others have noted (I would say labouring the point) the first few holes were relatively unspectacular they were still good golf, and set us up nicely for the highlights to come.

The raised holes with sky lark song give lovely views of the sweeping beach and sparkling waters definitely evoking Dornoch, and the stretch of holes in the dunes heading North before coming back inland brought Royal Aberdeen to mind with the strong finish bringing both back into memory.

Whilst those courses have an overall quality and atmosphere that few can match, given that they are booked up anyway and would break most budgets, if you are in the area definitely add Peterhead to your itinerary - a very welcome surprise awaits.
