PGA (Dye)

There are three 18-hole courses at the PGA World Village, each with names that reflect important individuals and events in the history of the association. Rodman Wanamaker, who inspired the birth of the PGA...Samuel Ryder, the namesake for what some consider the PGA’s greatest event. And finally, the Dye Course stands as a testament to the architect who has perhaps had the greatest impact on modern professional golf.

Pete’s designs host a handful of events during any given year and bring flocks of fans to try them out as well. Although his course at the PGA Village may not host an actual event, it will give a manageable taste of the challenges faced by professionals when they head to noted locations like TPC Sawgrass or Harbour Town. Those looking to score must flirt with disaster during heroic approaches, and those failing to find their target must struggle with challenging pot bunkers, among other hazards.

Although Dye’s own designs tend to encapsulate modern American golf, the route at this course hails to the linksland he loved, heading out at the first and not returning until the eighteenth.
