Pilar (Blue & White)

Before building the course, Pedro Vara, best known as Piero, owner of a mattress factory, travelled for three years visiting the USA's best clubs to take ideas to add to his own project at Pilar Golf Club. He intended to build an excellent quality course that would challenge players of all levels.

Big lakes and bunkers threaten the careless at Pilar. It also has a 665-yard par six which captures the attention of all golfers. The design of the course blends the need of long and precise tee shots with accuracy of approach and deft putting. The greens are wide with significant breaks and movement.

Pilar has 27-holes from which to choose and the layout is relatively treeless. It's American in style and is considered among the best of the continent, occupying 110 hectares of an old Estancia and located some 60 kilometers from downtown Buenos Aires.

Tournaments held at PGC: Argentina Stroke Play Championship (1994, 2000, 2005) and Argentine PGA Championship (2002). It also hosted the Abierto de Argentina in 2006, 2011 and 2018.
